VAHC Membership Approves Merger with Vermont Coalition to End Homelessness

Updated: Jun 28, 2023

UPDATES:

Dear VAHC Members,

Thank you to those who voted in our recent member poll! We had 56 total votes, and 51 of those were in support of merging with the Vermont Coalition to End Homelessness.

When we count only votes of active member organizations (which is the group that will participate in the final vote on the official plan of merger), we still have the two-thirds majority support we need to proceed. The VAHC Steering Committee is excited to see the energy and enthusiasm building around this merger, and we look forward to working with you to create a strong and effective merged organization!

The next step is to draft a formal plan of merger. When this is complete it will be shared with membership with at least 30 days’ notice for the final vote. We have started the recruitment process for the executive director of our new organization (see job description here). We will also be circulating ideas for the merged organization’s new name!

Please stay tuned in the next few weeks, as there may be multiple opportunities for you to weigh in on important aspects of this process. And we encourage you to reach out if you have questions or input for the Steering Committee as we continue this work.

Thank you again for your dedication to the mission of VAHC! Sincerely,
