Union Square Apartments, Windsor

Union Square

Partners: Windham and Windsor Housing Trust, Housing Vermont

This $9 million project was completed in November 2009, offering affordable housing for families in downtown Windsor at the corner of Union and Main. Formerly known as Armory Square, this apartment complex used to be housing for millworkers and had fallen into substandard condition. Windham and Windsor Housing Trust worked with Housing Vermont to create 58 spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, reducing it from 72 apartments. The units range from 805 to 1262 square feet, with rents from $680 to $935. The properties also include 6 market rate units.
