Source: The Burlington FreePress, 6/16/11 “Three weeks after it opened to house people affected by floods, the shelter in the Barre Auditorium is closing. The Red Cross said the closing the shelter at 5 p.m. today. Four shelters opened after a storm on May 26 dropped as much as 5 inches of rain in several central Vermont communities including Barre, Berlin and Montpelier. The Barre shelter.
