2018 Vermont Statewide Housing Conference is Coming Up!

The 2018 Statewide Housing Conference is quickly approaching! The Conference will be held November 13th and 14th. This Friday, October 5th, is the last day to register for this event with an early bird discount.

About the event, from VHFA: “This year’s conference will focus on Vermont communities and how they can impact housing affordability. In addition to hearing from national and state leaders, this conference offers an exciting menu of specialized, interactive workshops focusing on tools and best practices for municipalities, case studies and connections between housing and big-impact issues such as health care, opioids and schools.”

The first day of the conference will feature a reprise of the ever-informative Housing 101/102 sessions, hosted in part by our very own Erhard Mahnke. If you’re new to the fields of housing and homelessness, or work in an allied sector, be sure to attend for an afternoon of need-to-know information on the housing landscape and players in Vermont. You don’t want to miss this event. Policymakers and AmeriCorps*VISTA Members are especially encouraged to attend.

The second day of the conference will be full of updates, speakers, workshops, and opportunities for collaborative learning. This year’s keynote speaker is designer, architect, and social innovator Liz Ogbu. After Ms. Ogbu’s presentation there will be a series of short interviews to provide inspiration and ideas about the future of housing policy at both the state and federal level followed by workshops later on in the afternoon.

Click here if you are interested in seeing a full list of speakers, and here if you would like a more in-depth break down of the second day’s events.

The Statewide Housing Conference will be held November 13th and 14th at the Burlington Hilton. Be sure to register soon for this amazing event – last year, there were over 400 policy makers, advocates, and experts in attendance.

Hope to see you there!
