National Alliance to End Homelessness Launches Youth Site Visit Campaign

On Wednesday, September 15 at 2 p.m. ET, the Alliance will host a webinar to kick off a campaign to encourage Members of Congress to visit local programs serving youth either experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The webinar will include an overview of the campaign, as well as suggested strategies for getting Members of Congress to accept an invitation to visit a program and see first-hand how it affects youth experiencing homelessness in their districts. “BRATTLEBORO — Couch surfing, living in places unfit for human habitation, or in unstable or unhealthy situations — not because of something they did but because of circumstances beyond their control — is the fate of more than 50 youth ages 16 to 21 in Windham County each year.

The HIGHLOW Project features 24 large-scale color images taken by photographer Ned Castle depicting the “highs” and “lows” of homeless youth in Vermont, including Windham County. [More ...]
