“The National Alliance to End Homelessness has launched the HEARTH Academy to help communities prepare to meet the ambitious goals of the Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing (HEARTH) Act. The HEARTH Act is the first major reform to HUD’s homeless assistance program in nearly two decades.

The HEARTH Academy is being presented by the Alliance’s Center for Capacity Building. It features a one and a half day training, and will also include numerous webinars, tools, and materials. The HEARTH Academy will kick off with the first of three preparation webinars, entitled HEARTH Act Overview, on September 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. ET.

Trainings will be held between January and April of 2011 at various sites around the country. People who are interested in participating in the trainings should send a letter of interest to Aisha Williams at thecenter@naeh.org.”
