“The Rutland Housing Authority is meeting with federal Housing and Urban Development officials this week to determine what it can do to secure more than $6 million in funding for Forest Park.
Kevin Loso, RHA executive director, said he was headed to Washington, D.C., to get debriefed by HUD officials on what his organization can do better this July when it reapplies for $6.6 million in federal funding, known as HOPE VI Revitalization money.
The money would go toward the second phase of a major reconstruction project at the low- to moderate-income housing complex.
The Forest Park Redevelopment and Neighborhood Renewal Initiative gained steam in 2008 when the RHA announced it would be the first housing organization of its kind in the state to apply for federal HOPE VI money for its proposed project…”
