Residents of Wharf Lane Apartments in Burlington are working together to save their homes from being sold to a commercial developer. The building, owned by Pizzagalli Properties, is home to 44 low-income renters, many of whom are elderly or have disabilities.
The apartments were built 30 years ago by a private developer using HUD funds. The contract, which expires in 9 months, specified that after 30 years as low-income housing, the property could be sold at market rate.
