“The Vermont attorney general has sent 27 landlords in Chittenden and Washington counties letters requesting that they demonstrate compliance with the Vermont lead law.
Owners of buildings built before 1978 have 90 days to show compliance. Starting Monday, tenants of rental properties can file housing complaints with the Consumer Assistance Program of the Attorney General’s Office. Landlords who are the subject of complaints will be required to show compliance with the lead law. Complaints can be filed at the Web site www.uvm.edu/consumer.”
