Job Description, Community Development Specialist II: Consultative and administrative work at a professional level involving a federally funded grant program for community development activities (Community Development Block Grant Program). Coordinates and provides technical assistance to local and regional officials and private entities. Positions in this class are responsible for providing training to municipal and regional officials, program administrators, state managers and other professional staff. Duties focus on evaluating grant applications, interpreting complex financial statements, managing an open grant portfolio, and working closely with municipalities, non-profit organizations, regional entities and the public. Work at this level is distinguished from lower levels by need to operate with more independence. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior.
