ACTION ALERT: Sign on to Urge Congress to Fund the HOME Program at $1.7 Billion

From the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations (NACEDA)

We encourage national, state, and local organizations to sign this letter.

It urges Congress to fund the Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) at no less than $1.7 billion for Fiscal Year 2022. This funding is urgently needed as housing and rental assistance needs skyrocket during the pandemic, while states and localities face budget shortfalls.

For over 25 years, HOME’s flexible funding has proven to be one of the most effective tools to help states and localities address their most pressing housing challenges. HOME funding has achieved these results:

  1. Built and preserved over 1.33 million affordable homes

  2. Provided direct rental assistance to more than 384,000 vulnerable families

  3. Leveraged more than $4.50 in public and private funds for every $1 of HOME funding

  4. Supported 1.9 million jobs

  5. Generated $123.6 billion in local income

Sign on to the HOME Coalition letter by February 24. Please forward this email to your networks — including cross-sector partners — and ask them to sign the letter too.

More than 1,800 organizations signed last year’s letter. See the full list. If your organization signed last year and would like to be listed again this year, you do not need to sign on again. If you would like your organization to opt out from this year’s letter, contact Alexander Williams (alexanderwilliams@enterprisecommunity.org) by February 24.
