Rivermere units damaged by flash floods

Several units in Rivermere, an affordable housing complex in Lebanon, were devastated by flash flooding over the past week. Upper Valley Strong, a committee which formed in response to Tropical Storm Irene, joined other community volunteers to help clean out units in the Twin Pines Housing Trust property. 14 of the property’s 21 units have been cleared for occupancy for Rivermere residents, while the remaining seven are still uninhabitable. The Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) awarded $950,000 to fund the redevelopment of the Vermont State Office Complex’s Ladd Hall into affordable housing.
