We are happy to announce an exciting upcoming event as part of our Voices of Home project. Voices of Home is a multimedia storysharing project featuring the narratives of residents living in affordable housing across the state paired with painted portraits of some of the interviewees.
The Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition’s Resident Organizer, Corrine Yonce, will be holding an art show featuring the first four paintings in a series of twelve that will depict residents living in affordable housing. The painting will be paired with the stories that we have collected from these residents, chronicling what home has meant to them over the course of their lives and how affordable housing has helped them to live meaningful lives.
Corrine is an emerging artist and storyteller, happily living in the Old North End. The opening will take place on Wednesday, February 8th from 5 to 6:30pm at the Pathways Vermont Community Center, 279 North Winooski Ave. in Burlington. We hope to see you there!
