U.S. Treasury provides $1.2 million to state loan fund

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced this week it had given $1.2 million to the Vermont Community Loan Fund Inc., in Montpelier, as part of the last wave of funding provided through the Small Business Lending Fund. The lending fund was established as part of the Small Business Jobs Act signed into law by President Barack Obama, encouraging community banks and community development loan funds to increase their lending to small businesses to they can expand operations and create jobs.
