SAVE THE DATE: VHCC Annual Meeting, October 8th

The Vermont Housing and Conservation Coalition’s Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 8 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM at the Capitol Plaza in Montpelier in the Ethan Allen Room. The Annual Meeting is one of the most critical meetings to attend all year. We will do the usual of looking backward at the 2014 legislative session, approving a work plan for 2015, outlining legislative outreach activities for the fall, and adopting a VHCC budget. Most importantly, however, the co-chairs and other conservation and affordable housing leaders are working on formulating a strategy to achieve full formula funding AND a Capital Budget request this year. We need your participation now. Vermont is experiencing a worsening situation with homelessness, urgency to preserve some of the current affordable housing units, an inadequate amount of federal funding for farmland protection and a critical level of pressure on our forestland that has led to heightened concern for fragmentation. This confluence of issues requires urgency from all coalition members that must be expressed to the administration and the legislature. The sustained, good work of the affordable housing and conservation community has made a difference in Vermont communities and we can do more with more funding. Please contact elise@vlt.org to RSVP or with any questions.
