Rountable Discussion on Vermont Mobile Home Parks

There will be a Roundtable Discussion on Vermont Mobile Home Parks featuring Paul Bradley of ROC USA (See http://www.rocusa.org/) and Andy Danforth of the Cooperative Development Institute. It will take place on Friday, September 23 from 9AM – noon. There is a $10 fee to help cover lunch and there will be time to network after lunch. We hope that funders, representatives of non-profit housing organizations, resident activists and others will attend. Our intent is to engage Paul and Andy in discussion about a range of issues relevant to existing non-profit-owned mobile home parks and potential purchase opportunities:  property management, financing of homes, infrastructure, and resident ownership. ROC USA is a national network that provides technical assistance to residents seeking to purchase and operate manufactured/mobile home communities. It was initially organized as a program of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund and expanded nationally in 2008.  In New Hampshire, residents now own 92 manufactured home communities with 5000 homeowners. Recently, as part of the ROC USA network, the Cooperative Development Institute assisted residents in the purchase of the Bunker Hill Mobile Home Park. The round table discussion begins at 9:00 and ends at 12 noon. We’ll break with a buffet lunch and have an opportunity for networking with each other. There is a $10 fee to help with the cost of lunch. Our workshop will be hosted by the Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce in Berlin.   This convenient location is located just off of the interstate in Central Vermont.  Go to http://www.central-vt.com/chamber/meetingspace/index.html for directions and details.
