GMP discount rate application available

The Green Mountain Power Low-Income Residential Discount Program The Fuel Assistance Office announces a new electric rate discount on residential account for low-income customers of Green Mountain Power. The rate provides a 25% discount to low income customers on their first 600 kilowatt hours of electricity used each month.  This is a savings of approximately $25 each month or $300 each year at today’s electric rates for residential account customers. For residential account customers whose application is received in the Fuel Assistance Office no later than March 15, 2013, and who are eligible for the GMP discount rate, there will be a one time only arrears forgiveness. Eligibility is based on the total gross monthly income of all household members.  “Gross income” is before any deductions or payments (like the Medicare premium) are made.
