Energy Efficiency Working Group to meet at this Friday at Statehouse
Source: vt.Buzz, 8/8/11, by Terri Allenbeck A legislatively appointed work group will start this week to consider whether Vermont should require sellers to disclose a building’s energy efficiency. The “Working Group of Building Energy Disclosure” meets for the first time Friday, August 12th at 9:30 a.m. in Room 11 of the Statehouse. Click here for the agenda. The group was established in an energy bill — H. 56 — that passed this year. Its mission is to see whether the state should require disclosure of a building’s energy use. The committee has two legislators — Rep. Margaret Cheney, D-Norwich, and Sen. Robert Hartwell, D-Bennington, and a long string of people representing everything from home builders to low-income housing advocates. The group has permission (and funding) to meet four times and come up with a report by Dec. 15.
