Landlord fees: City manager admits an error

“Municipal program would create, not add to inspection expenses

ST. ALBANS CITY –– The city manager here is taking full responsibility for misinformation he recently gave to local landlords about charges for inspection of rental dwellings.

Dominic Cloud said he apologizes if he gave the impression at the June 14 city council meeting that the city wants to assume the state’s inspection of rental properties because of hikes in state fees.

House Passes Housing Data Base Bill

VHCB offers assistance for compliance with new EPA lead paint rules

“Despite the efforts of VHCB and others to convince AHS/Health Dept. to integrate the RRP rule into Vermont’s lead paint regulations, it appears increasingly unlikely that this will happen any time soon.  Since the RRP rule takes effect this coming April 22nd, this means that both state and federal lead paint regulations will have to be followed independently.  [More ...]
