New Video on Using Storytelling in Advocacy Available

“Last week, the Alliance released a 15-minute online instructional video on storytelling techniques for advocates. The video features Laura Webb, the Community Engagement Manager at Walden Sierra in Charlotte Hall, MD. Ms. Webb has a great deal of experience in explaining how to use anecdotes to engage key targets, including Members of Congress, local officials, and funders. The video outlines the key components of a compelling advocacy story; it also offers advice on where to look for stories, how to edit stories to fit an organization’s needs, and how to incorporate policy issues into storytelling.”

National Alliance to End Homelessness Launches Youth Site Visit Campaign

On Wednesday, September 15 at 2 p.m. ET, the Alliance will host a webinar to kick off a campaign to encourage Members of Congress to visit local programs serving youth either experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The webinar will include an overview of the campaign, as well as suggested strategies for getting Members of Congress to accept an invitation to visit a program and see first-hand how it affects youth experiencing homelessness in their districts. New Paper Examines Success Factors for Rural CoCs
