“Municipal program would create, not add to inspection expenses

ST. ALBANS CITY –– The city manager here is taking full responsibility for misinformation he recently gave to local landlords about charges for inspection of rental dwellings.

Dominic Cloud said he apologizes if he gave the impression at the June 14 city council meeting that the city wants to assume the state’s inspection of rental properties because of hikes in state fees.

ST. ALBANS CITY –– Fearing another fiscal burden on themselves and their tenants, a group of landlords here questions whether the city should localize the state inspection process and enact a fee schedule.

Barre landlords recite litany of woes

BARRE – A City Council that wanted to hear from local landlords got an earful this week, though not many of the problems aired during the two-hour session can be solved by City Hall.
