Deadline is November 12, 2010

Requests for Proposals Up to $10,000.

Project Categories:

  • Advocacy in Action Projects: to support groups of individuals and organizations to plan and launch advocacy activities.
  • disABILITY Awareness Projects: to support initiatives that present positive images of people with developmental disabilities.
  • Community Support Model Projects: to provide seed money for new ways to support people in communities.

TD Charitable Foundation 2010 Housing for Everyone Grant Competition

The TD Charitable Foundation is accepting applications for its 2010 Housing for Everyone grant competition.

The foundation, the charitable arm of TD Bank, will give $1.7 million to 34 local non-profit organizations that make a meaningful difference in meeting the affordable housing needs of their communities. [More ...]

Vermont awards $2.9M in community grants

“The Vermont Community Development Program awarded $2.9 million in grants Thursday, including $1 million to Brighton to help transform a vacant furniture plant into a wood pellet manufacturing facility. Vt. awards nearly $350,000 in planning grants

USDA Rural Development is now accepting applications under its Section 533, Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) Program.

An announcement appeared in the Federal Register on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, that Rural Housing Service would begin accepting applications.  A total of $10,146,815.03 is available nationwide for the HPG Program for Fiscal Year 2010.  Decisions on funding will be based on pre-applications.   PRE-APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5:00 P.M. ON MONDAY, JUNE 28, 2010.  States generally receive up to $100,000 each to fund grant applications. [More ...]

HUD awards $250,000 to state of Vermont to build green housing

“WASHINGTON, DC – April 6, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today announced that the State of Vermont is being awarded a $250,000 grant to produce new affordable, energy efficient, greenhousing. Vermont will use its grant to support a local community-based affordable housing developer to create these new homes which will feature a sustainable site design, water-conserving fixtures, energy-efficient appliances/lighting, and environmentally friendly building materials. The funding announced today is awarded through HUD’s HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), the nation’s largest block grant program to support the production of affordable housing. [More ...]

Vermont Community Foundation awards more than $280,000 to Vermont nonprofits

The Vermont Community Foundation awarded a total of $10.6 million in grants in 2009, including $281,250 made at the end of the year to 60 organizations as part of the Foundation’s Community Fund grant program. The program awards grants to organizations that support Basic Human Needs (children, elderly and family services, housing, food and shelter, health); Successful Communities (civic engagement, diversity and equity, education); and Sustainable Communities (arts, humanities and cultural heritage, environment, economic development).

County gets federal energy block grants

“PUTNEY — Windham County schools and municipalities have been awarded more than $378,000 in efficiency and conservation block grants through a provision in the 2007 energy bill that was co-sponsored by Sen. Bernard Sanders.

Sanders, and Gov. James Douglas, will make the announcement about the grants this afternoon in South Burlington. They are part of the $5.8 million that will go toward 147 different projects around the state. [More ...]

New grant for White River Jct. shelter
